It is very important to make sure the battery circuit is open/broken when moving a battery pack. If the batteries inside are connected, they can discharge if the battery pack terminals are touched or make contact with a metal surface. Once safe to move, our logistics team can then transport decommissioned UPS to its new location where we can reconnect and recommission, ready for use. Our specialist logistics team can provide protective floor coverings, pallets, stair-climbs and lifts and hoists. Every care is taken to prevent damage to the equipment being moved and its surroundings.

Server Relocation Projects
Our projects managers provide simple de-rack/re-rack services for simple IT relocations to more complex server room and data centre server relocation. Preparation and planning prepares the project for achievement of your Go-Live date and includes a full assessment of each server, SAN, switch, and management port connections and identifies their interconnecting cables and patching. Without this our project team cannot reproduce the server cabinet layouts and functionality in your new location.
Most server relocations take place outside working hours, at weekends, overnight and on bank holidays. We ensure that we have sufficient transportation cases, vehicles, and engineers available (with additional resources available if required from our office and regional depots) to ensure we meet your timescales, budget and expectations.
Our cabling installations team can provide additional services in terms of pre-cabled racks at the relocation destination so that the servers, SANs, and switches can be easily installed into the correct server rack and position within.
Following hardware installation, our projects team will manage cable connection testing and power-up in co-ordination with on-site IT and data centre managers. A final relocation report will be issued by our logistics office on completion.
