The IP in IP camera stands for Internet Protocol. An IP camera connects to a local area network via an Ethernet cable, via a built-in RJ45 Ethernet port or through a Wireless Access Point (WAP) to the Wi-Fi network. An IP camera is typically PoE (Power over Ethernet) powered via an Ethernet cable and suitable PoE injector or PoE enabled network switch or router.
IP Security and Network Cameras
Network IP Cameras provide a way to protect secure areas and monitor access and activity. An IP camera is easy to install and provides a clear view of the area. Accessible using a browser interface or through a compatible monitoring device program which can accept the camera feed. Network IP cameras can offer a host of features including motion detection or continuous recording, storage, voice intercom and alert notifications.
