The Netio PowerCable REST 101G is a smart WiFi plug and socket device that can be monitored and controlled over an IP network. The PowerCable has a BS1363 UK style plug and socket from which power and energy consumption data can be gathered via web interface. The socket can also be switched ON/OFF remotely and has a REST API (application programming interface) for users who want to pull information into their own applications.
In addition to a REST API protocol, other models within the smart PowerCable range are available with MODBUS, MQQT and IQRF interfaces. All PowerCable devices feature power monitoring and control. The power socket switches electrical output (ON/OFF) using Zero Current Switching (ZCS) to reduce wear and tear on the switching relay and supports independent output control (IOC) to ensure a stable output even during a firmware upgrade. Smart PowerCables also support automatic ‘WiFi Reconnect’ functions to improve IP network connectivity.
The Netio Cloud service provides a secure HTTPS connection through which to monitor and control a PowerCable over the internet. A NETIO Cloud ‘welcome credit’ is provided free of charge for each connected device, calculated to cover about 3 years of operation.

Event Scheduler Function
The Scheduler Function allows the powering ON or OFF of each output to programmed into a weekly day schedule at specific times. This can be a useful features to save energy and periodically reboot connected devices.
- Each output socket has its own schedule
- The scheduler works without an internet connection; a time source (NTP server) is needed such as a local ADSL broadband or WiFi router
- Netio Cloud can also be use to control the outputs when the scheduler is active
