AKCP Quicklime is a powerful, centralised monitoring and management platform for critical server rooms and data centre environments. It provides a single user interface for monitoring sensor data from across your infrastructure, helping operators quickly identify environmental, power and security issues.
Quicklime is the next-generation platform from AKCP and provides the foundation for centralised monitoring, dashboards and data visualisation across your AKCP sensorProbe+ (SPX) infrastructure. With an AKCP sensorProbe+ you can monitor using plug-in sensors for a range of environmental conditions, and bring in digital or analog information to monitor uninterruptible power supplies (UPS systems), air conditioning, CRAC and CRAH cooling systems, energy meters, LV switchgear and any device that provides a relay contact or information via MODBUS, MQTT or SNMP.
With Quicklime you can easily create customised desktops that drill down from a data centre view to an individual rack, or asset in a few clicks. Sensor data feeds into assets for granular insights into each assets power, environmental, security or network status. Integration with third party sensors via popular protocols such as Modus, Bacnet, SNMP and MQTT.
Quicklime provides all the functionality of the APS with optional modules available that can provide AI powered analytics, data centre infrastructure management (DCIM), power usage effectiveness (PUE) and energy efficiency monitoring, video surveillance analytics and sensorCFD anaysis and digital twin modelling.
Quicklime Level 1 Features
- Real-time Visibility: view current sensor conditions, log data and identify potential problems quickly
- Third-Party System Monitoring: connected UPS and cooling solutions, energy meters and LV switchgear for continuous sytem monitoring and data logging
- Automated Alerts: setup custom notifications and alerts via email, SNMP, SMS, phone calls and more
- Centralised Monitoring: bring sensor data from multiple SPX devices into a single interface
- Customisable Dashboards: display the information most important to your operation using graphs, gauges, maps and other visualisations
- Scalable Platform: expand the system with additional Quicklime modules and sensors as your requirements grow
- Third-party Integration: Quicklime can integrate data from third-party systems including HVAC systems energy meters, LV switchgear, UPS systems and generators using protocols including SNMP, Modbus, BACnet and MQTT
- Sensor Capacity: monitor up to 500 sensors within the Level 1 package or select Levels 2 or 3 for higher sensor capacities
Quicklime Level 2 DCIM Features
Add to the Level 1 features including:
- Digital Twin Realtime Visibility: construct a Digital Twin of your data centre with realtime insights for any assets at anytime. Connect sensors with assets for holistic view.
- Identify Stranded Capacity: Ensure maximum use of cooling capacity by comparing cooling capacity with IT loads and identify where stranded capacity can be released.
Quicklime Level 3 sensorCFD and AI Analytics Features
Add to the Level 2 features including:
- Reduced Energy Costs: use sensorCFD with AI analytics produce an energy report with an actual cost for wasted energy and advice how to optimize your facility.
Quicklime Data Centre Energy Optimisation
Data centre optimisation focuses on improving the eciency, performance, and sustainability of Data Center Facilities. Typical strategies involve optimizing airflow through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, which simulates air movement, temperature distribution, and heat transfer within the data center to identify hotspots, ineficiencies, and optimal layouts for racks and vents.
CFD models are used in the design phase to test various congurations such as adjusting aisle containment, fan speeds, or placement of perforated oor tiles. Quicklime incorporates CFD tools that can be used at the design stage, but more importantly, during operation. sensorCFD is a sensor backed CFD analysis for accurate, near real-time optimisation.
AKCP’s sensorCFD is an iterative process, where sensor data feeds into the CFD model, the results are then analyzed using advanced AI tools, which produces recommendations for improvements. These are then implemented and validated through further simulations. Up to 10% energy reductions can be acheived through this process.
Quicklime SensorCFD Modelling
sensorCFD creates the CFD analysis based on live sensor data. Connecting the sensor data and asset mapping of Quicklime it generates a CFD analysis of your facility. The results are fed into an AI analytical tool that produces a report with suggested problem areas and improvements. An Energy report is also produced that calculates estimated energy savings and a Coecient of Performance (COP) of your server room or data ceentre. It is here where the true value of Quicklime can be found, where energy is saved and the software becomes more than simply a monitoring and management tool, but an asset that provides a return on investment.
Quicklime Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM)
- Asset Management: At the heart of the DCIM are all of the appliances and equipment that make up your infrastructure. Map out your data centre and locate the assets. Connect the assets with sensors to monitor the environmental, power or security parameters of those assets.
- Critical Power Train Mapping: Monitor your facilities power, PUE, loads and power utilization. Balance loads and plan Data Center expansion. Power data comes from AKCP power meters, third party power meters or intelligent PDUs.
- Network Cable Mapping: Connect assets to their relevant network switches and ports. Generate cable schedules with source and termination points, lengths and labels. Manage cable pathways and determine run lengths.
- 3D Data Centre Visualisation: Draw your data centre in 3D, add assets to racks and connect assets with sensor data.
- Video Analytics: Video feeds in Quicklime can be handled like any other sensor with notications based on
sensor events. Utilize AI prompting to create video analytical sensors that watch for specic events such as employees not wearing protective gear, crossing into unauthorized areas or checking for hazards. Use AI Prompting to review recorded video for specic events and synchronize events with sensor data.
Quicklime Free Trial and Annual Maintenance
Quicklime is priced according to the number of sensors installed from which the data is to be collected and analysed. The starting package is from 500 sensors, including AKCP and third-party collected using virtual sensors. To this can be added additional modules for DCIM, sensorCFD, video AI, cluster installation, cloud hosting and annual maintenance. For the AI Model a Jetson Thor computer is required.
| Level | Features |

| 2 | QuickLime with Dashboards / centralised SPX User Interfaces / 500 sensors / full DCIM |
| 3 | QuickLime with Dashboards / centralised SPX User Interfaces / 500 sensors / full DCIM / Sensor CFD and AI Analysis |
AKCP offers a 90-day free trial of Quicklime, allowing you to evaluate the platform before committing to a licence. After the 90-day trial, the software can continue to operate without a licence; however, ongoing technical support, software updates and access to new features require an annual maintenance agreement.
An annual maintenance plan provides continued access to software updates and technical support for each additional year that maintenance is renewed.
