Description

The SRE Universal Physical Aisle Containment System is a flexible aisle containment and thermal management solution for larger server rooms and data centre environments. The SRE UPACS separates cold air supply from hot exhaust air, leading to higher return air temperatures and improved cooling capacity, unlocking capacity for increased rack densities.

Designed and made to order, the system is free standing, allowing cable support structure systems to be easily mounted on top. It is an ideal bespoke Cold Aisle Containment solution that will improve cooling airflow and cooling efficiency, reduce energy consumption and enhance overall data centre energy efficiency performance.

Universal Physical Aisle Containment System Features

  • Aluminium System Frames with steel infill panels positioned at the end of each row
  • Aluminium profiles on the top of the racks, connecting the two end frames together
  • Aluminium profiles roof extension bars for the polycarbonate roof panels sit on
  • Freestanding allowing any size server rack to be installed and removed without affecting the cold aisle
  • Varying width cold aisles including 1200mm and 1800mm
  • Synchronised and self-closing doors

Copper and Fibre Cable Support Infrastructure

The cable support infrastructure can include cable baskets and fibre ducting to be mounted directly on top of the U-PAC system. This allows U-PAC to be retrofitted over existing server rack installations, and with the cable support infrastructure mounted directly on top of the containment, there is no need to remove the ceiling to install drop rods to provide the support.

The cable support infrastructure is easy to deploy in operational data centre, particularly in server rooms where ceiling tiles are installed. Rooms with low floor to ceiling heights also benefit due to the compact nature of the cable support infrastructure. It is designed to de-risk future expansion, for example using crosses in the Fiber Runner with ends capped off to allow easy and fast expansion in multiple directions. Without this, the Fiber Runner will need to be modified to add on to it, which is risky when live fibres are installed.

Cold Aisle Containment Doors

We supply single or double doors for use in 1200mm or 1800mm aisles with our Standard or Universal cold aisle containment systems. The doors are manufactured from steel and powder coated. The standard colour is grey RAL7035, but other colours are available.

Containment Aisle Door Key Features

  • Synchronised opening and closing of both doors
  • Large Polycarbonate door window for maximum light transmission
  • Clear Polycarbonate roof panels for maximum light transmission
  • Thumb Lock inside doors for safety; no key required to exit locked doors
  • Euro Profile Locks, keyed alike per pod, or per facility
  • Brush strips to create seal
  • No bolts or fixings visible on external door
  • Lightweight allowing both synchronised doors can be opened with one hand
  • Holdbacks allowing both doors can be opened with one hand
  • Smooth operation for both opening and closing
  • Damped soft closing so doors do not slam

Blanking Panels Key Features

  • Flexible Configuration Options: blanking panels can be configured in-row or above rack level, allowing them to be deployed wherever airflow gaps exist within the containment environment.
  • Choice of Materials: the panels are manufactured from either steel or twin wall polycarbonate, providing options to suit both structural requirements and visibility preferences.
  • Durable Steel Finish: the steel panels are powder-coated for a robust, long-lasting finish in standard RAL 7035 grey, with optional colours available to match customer branding or existing data centre aesthetics.
  • Improved Cooling Efficiency: by sealing unused rack space and containment gaps, DCE blanking panels help ensure that conditioned air is delivered directly to server intakes, reducing energy waste and improving overall cooling effectiveness.

InRow Storage Systems

The In-Row Storage solutions provide a secure and practical method of incorporating storage directly within the rack line, without compromising structural integrity or data hall layout. Designed for use within contained environments, in-row storage offers a space-efficient alternative to freestanding cabinets or ad-hoc storage areas.

InRow Storage Key Features

  • Highly Secure and Load-Bearing Design: the in-row storage units are engineered to be structurally robust and load bearing, ensuring they can safely support stored equipment, spares, or tools within the rack row environment.
  • Steel Infill Panel Construction: constructed using steel infill panels, the storage solution delivers strength, durability, and a professional finish that aligns with standard data centre infrastructure.
  • High Load Capacity: Each in-row storage unit is capable of supporting up to 200kg, making it suitable for heavier components such as server spares, power equipment, or installation materials.
