How do I get SMS Text Message Alerts?

All our environmental monitoring units provide a range of notification options for alert conditions. For SMS text messages, the base monitoring device must either have a built-in modem or an external modem or gateway in order to send SMS messages.

Units with a built-in modem option (GSM/LTE) include the AKCP SP2+, SPX4, SPX8 and SPX16. HW Group units with a built-in modem include the Perseus 145 and 155 models. For other HW Group units an SWS GW3 SMS Gateway can be added to the same IP network as the base unit and the two will work in tandem to send SMS text alerts. The HW Group ARES units can also be used to send SMS text messages.

SMS alerts can be configured to trigger for specific sensor or detector conditions and sent to predefined mobile phone number lists. This can be useful for overloaded IT managers facing an avalanche of emails each day or national service centres, facing a similar issue and wanting critical alerts via SMS text message.

Clients can supply their own SIM or we can arrange for one to be provided as part of the package.
